Business
Alliance News:
Moore
Square’s Business Alliance started the school
year holding a fashion show. Students modeled clothing
supplied by Plato’s Closet. The purpose of
the fashion show was to model clothing to students
and parents showing them both proper school attire
and attire that was inappropriate. The event was
very successful and a lot of fun.
Other Alliance Activities include mentoring lunches,
Character Education lunches each month, working
on increasing the community’s awareness
of Moore Square Middle School and hosting a Career
Day in 2007, for all the 7th and
8th grade students at Moore Square.
Business
Alliance Members are listed below.
Members commit to meeting monthly,
being on committees, etc., devoting 25-30
hours a year to the school, and are mainly
the driving force of the Business Alliance.
Would
you like to be involved with our Business
Alliance but not commit so much time? Become
a Business Alliance Partner! Partners are
willing to be called on for special times -
such as speaking to a class, tutoring, attending
Career Day, helping with resources, etc.

About US
The mission
of the M2M3 Business Alliance is to help students understand
the relevance of education to their future careers.
This
will be done through visiting classrooms and participating in covering the curriculum by giving examples
of how the topic the class is covering is used in business, holding a Career Day, participating in Take a Child to Work, etc. Also planned
are finding ways to support Character Education as well as finding out what teachers need in the way of support.
Our
business alliance is open to all business people, including
M2M3 parents and downtown Raleigh business neighbors. There
are two ways to get involved- as a member or a partner.
Members
commit to meeting monthly, being on committees,
etc., devoting 25-30 hours a year to the
school, and are mainly the driving force of the Business
Alliance.
Partners want to participate but do not want to attend monthly meetings,
be on committees, etc. They are willing to be called
on for special times - such as speaking to a classroom,
tutoroing, attending Career Day, helping with resources,
etc.
We
encourage you to get involved with the
Moore Square Middle School Business Alliance by contacting Vickie Simmons, Career Development Coordinator, at
919-856-8213 or
by e-mailing vsimmons@wcpss.net
